Tournament preferences really depend on how people like to play. Some enjoy shorter competitions because the results come quickly, while others prefer longer events where they can spread their play over several days. I usually look at the prize structure first rather than the size of the prize pool itself. If there are rewards for more places on the leaderboard, I find those tournaments a bit more interesting because they feel accessible to casual players as well.
