Hi! I know you are already pretty well versed in Israeli citizenship, and I would like to ask you for advice. I am interested in how realistic it is to get an Israeli passport without moving there permanently. What are the most difficult steps in this process, and what documents do people usually have to deal with when applying? I am also interested in whether there is a residency check or other formalities that can complicate the process if a person lives abroad? I would appreciate any advice and personal experience, if any.

I recently went through the process of obtaining an israeli passport myself and can share my experience. I will immediately note that it is possible to obtain citizenship even if you do not live in Israel permanently, the main thing is to have the right to repatriation and prepare all the necessary documents. The most difficult things for me were collecting certificates of origin, confirmation of Jewish roots and notarized translations of documents. It is also important to check all forms and submission requirements in advance – errors can seriously delay the process. There is indeed a check of the place of residence, but if you provide truthful information about your current address abroad and all documents are in order, this does not create any special problems. Personally, it helped me to thoroughly prepare, consult with official sources and follow the instructions step by step.

I recently went through the process of obtaining an Israeli passport and can share my experience. In fact, it is quite possible to obtain a passport without moving to Israel permanently, but there are nuances. The most difficult stage for me was the correct execution of documents and the collection of all the necessary evidence: birth certificates, documents on Jewish origin, marriage (if any) and other papers that require official certification. Particular attention should be paid to the translation of documents and their legalization so that everything meets the requirements of the Israeli authorities. A check of the place of residence is indeed carried out, but it does not always become an obstacle – the main thing is to provide reliable information and contact information. For me personally, the process turned out to be more understandable than I expected, and with a careful approach, no serious difficulties arose. I can say with confidence that persistence and attention to detail significantly simplify the path to a passport. I recommend preparing the entire package of documents in advance and not being afraid to ask questions to specialists, this really saves time and effort.
