I want to build height-adjustable desk. Ready-made models are expensive, but I want to build it myself. I’m thinking of using a motor and mechanisms to smoothly raise and lower the desk. Is it possible to build such a system myself? What components would be needed, and is it difficult to implement control with buttons or remote control?

Check out the Standing Desk Frames from Progressive Automations. They have ready-made Lifting Column Sets with powerful Linear Actuators and controllers already built in. All components are selected based on load and height, and control is via Control Systems buttons or touch panels. You can install memory positions and height stops. I built desk like this for my office. It operates smoothly, quietly, and looks professional.

It’s better to use a pre-made base, especially if you’re new to electronics. I’d recommend starting with a kit where everything has already been tested for compatibility.
