So, I finally got rid of all the random remotes lying around my living room — TV, soundbar, Apple TV, even the AC one — and switched to using just my phone. I thought it’d be a mess, but honestly, it’s been way smoother than expected. No more hunting under the couch for remotes or replacing dead batteries every few weeks. Has anyone else tried going fully digital for home control? Wondering if there’s any downside I haven’t noticed yet.

I know what you mean about losing remotes — I swear mine always end up in the weirdest places. Once I found the TV remote in the fridge (don’t ask). I’ve been thinking of simplifying things too, but I’m kinda old-school and still like pressing real buttons. There’s just something satisfying about it, even if I have to dig around the cushions to find the thing half the time.

Yeah, I’ve been doing the same thing for a while now. I use the app https://mac.eltima.com/iphone-remote-control-app/ it connects to my smart TV, speakers, and even my air conditioner. It took a few minutes to set everything up, but once it’s done, it just works. The best part is not needing to juggle five different remotes. Plus, I can control everything from another room, which is super handy when I forget to turn something off.
