eFax Brings Order to the Business of Law
Legal professionals are beginning to migrate traditional office hardware such as computers and fax machines to laptops, tablets and cloud-fax services, enabling them to maintain an increasingly mobile lifestyle while staying in touch with their business.
According to the 2012 survey from the American Bar Association's Legal Technology Resource Center, 38 percent of lawyers have already migrated to laptops as primary computers.
In a recent eFax Solutions podcast, New York attorney Scott Brenner, of Brenner Law Offices, explained that “the realities of the competitive business and legal environments require a new brand of lawyer ... one that understands the power of working remotely, from a more virtual platform. Being mobile and always accessible to clients, to me, is of paramount importance to a successful practice.”
According to the 2012 National Study of Employers, 77 percent of companies surveyed allow or encourage flextime and nearly 66 percent let employees sometimes work from home.
As working remotely grows in popularity among working professionals, it’s vital that professionals, including attorneys, are able to access critical documents remotely. Brenner believes that a major pain point for lawyers working remotely is a result of inefficiencies and not having access to files or data electronically stored.
”While many people there is knowledge how to fax from your iphone to a smartphone or computer, there are circumstances where people may not have access to these things, in turn causing them to rely heavily on fax," said Brenner. In those situations, having the ability to fax a document to that person, at any location… becomes a very powerful tool."
So how can eFax help other law professionals on the go? Here are a few ways:
- Freedom and flexibility
- Easing the burden of e-discovery
- Eliminating document disorder
- Confidential and secure faxing
- Signed, sealed and sent faxes
